The Problem
Many tech conference organizers and attendees agree there is a lack of diversity of speakers: both of women and people of color. While some conferences support a proactive diversity policy, the common lament is that the pool of candidates just isn’t large enough to draw from.
We see the issue as a problem of visibility: diverse experts, aspiring speakers and authors, and newly minted entrepreneurs do exist — they just may not be making themselves widely known.
Our Solution
Knowledge is power and community builds identity.
By providing a source of information about increasing visibility in an industry that needs new faces and voices, we intend to shift the demographics of the faces of the tech industry.
By providing a sense of identity and epic purpose, we strive to further create role models whose presence will encourage and lay the path for the next generation of tech professionals.
